Great job Detroit!!! Tons of aid stations with plenty of volunteers!! Performance wise, I didn't have a great race, but still loved it. It ran through some really nice areas of the Detroit/Windsor! I have a preference towards "urban" marathons so I rate the course scenery HIGHER than Grandma's (which I did 4 months ago - which I found a bit boring)...easy access to start/finish from tons of hotels downtown....no need for shuttle bus....just a relatively short walk....I loved the medal and ribbon - very patriotic! I carried my water bottle into Canada and back without any issues. A good amount of locals along the course to cheer you on....more than expected! Downtown Detroit is really nice and exceeded my expectations (I had never been there before) - if you're looking for a fast flat marathon this could be it!!! A great option for 50 staters! I'm so glad I did it...I've ran 27 marathons and this is a Top 3 on my list!! GREAT JOB DETROIT!!! The only small complaint is that the starting corral was a bit difficult to get into - so you might get their at least 20 minutes before the start. Other than that...PERFECT!!!
