This was my 3rd time running the Detroit Marathon and 2017 was my redemption year (which I succeeded at too!). The weather was very weird for October and ended up being quite warm and VERY windy! In addition to running the full 26.2, I also ran the 1st 2 legs of the relay. I also ran the 5k on the day prior to the full.
All in all, I HIGHLY recommend the Detroit Marathon, if anything, for the chance to run across the Ambassador Bridge and thru the Detroit Windsor Tunnel! (The race boasts to have the only underwater, international mile in a marathon). The second half of the full marathon can be a bit boring for the first few miles, but starting at mile 16ish, Indian Village is basically a huge party followed by running on Belle Isle and the Detroit Riverwalk, which is quite scenic!
