Perfectly colored and weight t-shirts for the run - made for a sea of salmon running through the park. The post-race ceremonies with the good humor truck and Combi photo booth were nice touches. Also loved addition of sprinklers to counter warm day - added comfort to go with plentiful aid stations.
Love the Central Park 5m course as it avoids the Harlem Hills

The weekend of the race started off nice with a Q&A on women's running that included the woman who'd won the first Mini as well as the founder of Mile High Run Club - nice to have two different takes. I was happy with that but unhappy with the race singlet. Women's shirts are poorly sized and the tank exceptionally so.

This is the only run I can think of that takes Central Park's hills clockwise. Also the only NYRR one I've done wherein the corrals and race's start are outside the Park. Line up was on Central Park South and luckily in the shade, although it was harder than normal to find the entry points to the corrals due to the way they'd set it up.

It was a faster cross of the start than the prior week's 5M and we were quickly off and up Central Park West before heading into the Park at about the mile marker. It's really nice to start off the Harlem HIlls downhill but it's disheartening to see the uphill behind the rink as you approach it. While it's nice to have Cat HIll downhill, I think I prefer running counter clockwise in Central Park.

They had sprinklers to go with the water stations, which was nice. Finish line was near Tavern on the Green and uphill but the shoot was nice with roses as well as the medals. The Festival near Naumberg bandshell had a step and repeat and some fun vendors. All in all, a good day.

NYCRuns had Mother Nature's cooperation on this one as the wind chill was something like 11F as we lined up. Number pickup and bag check once t-shirt was collected was easy. Really do wish NYCRuns had more regular early pickup to make race morning easier, although their fields are small enough that this generally isn't an issue.

There was some ice and packed snow on the course's first hill leading to some prudent walking, but the course was generally in good shape. Volunteers throughout kept our spirits up, although I felt worse for them since it was way easier for us to keep warm.

The Riverside Park course is good and scenic with the loops varied enough that it doesn't feel like deja vu. Pick up of bag was easy and post-race snacks were good.
