Very well run. The best part was all the volunteers who cheered us on. There were probably 12-15 stations with volunteers. This would be a great first run. The course was well marked. In Winston Salem there’s always hills, but this route avoided the worst of them. It supported a great cause and with about 300 runners on the cool and cloudy day there were tons of options for street parking and it wasn’t too crowded.

There was no swag bag for this event, but the gender specific technical T is awesome thanks to sponsorship by Champion. Then the race expo area had tons of community businesses there with great give always and activities.

The food after that race was enough to make me wish gluten was a friend. Beer, beverages, pizza, subs and the normal fruit, bars and cracker type things as well.

It was one of the cheapest races I've done all year but you couldn't tell it. The emcee was the Twin City Track Club leader and he had a great sound system, they played some great tunes to get you started and finish up the race and the atmosphere was great.

There was some really tight competition there too and dedicated runners. The rain stopped 15 min or so before rather even began and they still had about 500 runners show up and around 800 registered I think they said. For the weather it was a great turn out!

The description that this race is "candlelit" is a joke. BUT it was a great course and a good time.

The live bluegrass before and after the race added a lot to the atmosphere and 3 moonshine based cocktails to choose from was great. There were also great after run snacks and plenty of water.

It wasn't a long run - but as it was a dark trail run I would have expected 2 aid stations instead of one. But the one they had was really well staffed and stocked with water!

I'd definitely be interested in doing this one again and while I have a hard time crossing state lines for a race this short... if I traveled for 5K's it would be worth it.

Hundreds of people show up for this race every year. It's a great opportunity to PR as the course is amazingly flat... I think Strava recognized 13 feet gained elevation! It is a bit of a mind game though... it's a straight out and back so you see the finish line for a mile and a half at the end. Still the miles are really well marked and I did PR on this course.

The parking is AMAZING since they had like 2 or 3 nice busses to take us out to the Runway and back to our cars. We never had to wait for a bus and it was a comfy ride.

There really wasn't a swag bag - just a t-shirt. BUT the expo at the event had tons of vendors from athletic brands and retailers to healthcare and grocery stores and they had tons of swag, coupons and prizes if you're into that sort of thing.

Of course they also had the standard fare of post race snacks, fruit, carbs and water.

It was a good race and the competition was really tight - especially for men over 30.

Getting to run by the habitat homes and being cheered on by the residents and volunteers was a rare and rewarding race experience.

The terrain involved a great hill if you like to climb while you run but over all want bad.

This event went smoothly, was really well marked and perhaps the most fun I've ever had while running. I'll definitely be doing it next year - though parking was a bit complicated it was well worth it.
