I have now run this marathon 3 times, with another registration for 2017. Always impressed with how seamlessly and professionally this race is executed.

Beginning with communication from the spring registration, all the way through race day. Social media presence and email communication make the race "an experience" to look forward to, not just a singular event.

Great kids race the day prior with "medals" and shirts. Made my boys feel like we were there as a family event, and not to just watch Dad.

Expo has giveaways and great vendors all afternoon. Efficient packet pickup with plenty of parking and space to wander and chat with other racers.

Race morning starts early, as the busses take you from the finish line - 26 miles away to the start in Central, UT. Very well organized and efficient transportation. Don't wait until the last bus... Just get on one and get up there, the start line is a party in itself. BRING WARM CLOTHES! Yes, you are in the desert. But desert means both hot AND COLD temperatures. Typically it is mid-30's at the start line in the pre-dawn. Take a blanket or sweatshirt and pants to wear until start time. They have a TON of fire barrels that get lit progressively as runners show up. If you can't find a lit one to huddle around, just stand next to the one that hasn't been lit. It will be blazing shortly... Plenty of port-a-potties at the start as well.

The local volunteers make this race awesome! Aid stations are always well-staffed and even offer leg rub-downs with icy hot later in the race.

Course is net-downhill, but not CONTINUOUSLY downhill. Be ready for the "Veyo hill" and a stretch of flat mid-race. followed by a large downhill as you come into town. Spectators in town are awesome!!! I've been offered baggies of ice, slushy Cokes, popsicles, hose-downs, "misters", cool towels, and great support from people just watching the race!

Post-race is very orderly and supported with food, massage, and easy drop bag pickup. Hang out in the park for awhile afterwards!

The scenery is just the frosting on the cake... Don't forget to look around as you run! ;)

Great fall race!
