The Omahalf was a brand new race this year, billed as a simple race with few frills, but a great course at a low price. For $35, we received half marathon race entry, a super soft tee, and a great medal! While the course wasn't very scenic, it was nice and flat, which I always appreciate when trying to race! Being that it was on a bike trail, support on the course was sparse, but since it was out and back, runners were cheering each other on. The finish area had a playground, which was perfect for families waiting for their loved ones to finish. The PR bell was my FAVORITE and I'm so glad I was able to ring it!

I would recommend this race, especially at this great price, but I had two things I'd like to see changed. First, the race did not start until 10am. I much prefer an earlier start time and many suffered because of the heat because of the late start. Secondly, the food at the finish left much to be desired. I understand that this was all about simplicity, but after running a half marathon, I really needed something more!

The race directors did a great job on filling a gap in the Omaha area for a spring marathon and the low price made it accessible to lots of people! I look forward to seeing what they do next!

If someone is looking to run a half marathon in Nebraska, THIS is the one I tell them to do! I have been a pacer for the Good Life Halfsy for two years and I can't wait to pace again this year!

The 2016 Good Life Halfsy was even better than previous years! The point-to-point course runs through Lincoln with great spectator support, but it used to have a few confusing and frustrating ending. In 2016, they were able to get rid of that ending and I know all runners were very happy about it! Plus, you can't beat having a Pink Gorilla out there on the course with you!

As far as the weather goes, you never know what you'll get in Nebraska in the fall, but the last two years have been on the warm side. Be prepared for anything!

The Halfsy has the best swag! The long sleeve tech shirts are high quality and have great designs every year, and I LOVE the colorful medals! Also, FREE RACE PHOTOS!

And the finish line festival is AMAZING! As you come down the bridge into the Haymarket area of Lincoln, the finishers' chute is lined with people and there is one big party after you finish! It is a fabulous atmosphere! Because this is a point-to-point race, there are shuttles to take you back to your car. The shuttle system worked very well for us this year!

Everything about this race is so well done and it sells out fast every year, so if you're thinking about running it, don't delay! I'd love to see you there in 2017!
