I've done this race several times and I always enjoy it. The course is nice and the race is always well organized with lots of friendly volunteers. It is timed by Huber timing which is always a plus, as results get sent out immediately via e-mail, text, etc. and there are iPads at the finish so you can check your placings.
This year the race was part of the ORRC half marathon series which brought out a few speedsters, but I'd say the vibe is geared more towards the participants than the front-runners.
This race has an indoor area for pre and post race hanging around which is important as it's usually cold and often wet in early January.
It has a nasty hill at mile 3 or 4 and then you still need to save just a little because it has a short, steep climb right at the finish.
