Running wild races helps local schools with field trips to St Patrick's park. The 5k was nicely marked and was 80% on trail/grass surface, with 15% on road and 5% gravel. The post race food was awesome. Free egg casserole, free Kona ice snow cone, and great baked goodies. There were plenty of door prizes but I didn't win one. I did win overall in 5k. Overall and age group winners got maple syrup from Bendix woods. My only complaint maybe have overall winners get a bigger maple syrup or let them have a door prize etc. Top 3 in age group and overall also got handmade painted pine cones. I would recommend this race for a change of scenery and to have fun on the trails. Price was $20 pre-register or $25 day of race. Entry did not include a shirt you had to pay extra if you wanted a shirt.

Was one of the top marathon runners. Didn't have someone guide us to make a turn and we kept running straight another half mile then a volunteer told us we were going wrong way. Ended up doing an extra 1.17 because of the deal. With the amount of money you pay for the race don't see why they can't have a poster or arrows at every turn.
If you need Indiana for your marathon state for 50 states choose a different one. Monumental, and Mill race marathon are better options.

This was my first time doing Wisconsin marathon. Overall I thought the organization was great. You could get your bib number mailed to you or pick up at packet pickup at locations before the race or the day before the race at expo. Since traffic was bad I had a friend get mine on Friday and meet up with them in Kenosha when I got there. The course was fairly flat. Was a good layout of the course. Only downside is the gravel roads with some rocks and pot holes in the later miles 18-22. I actually landed on a medium size rock and it felt bad on my foot. The wind was 15-25 mph from the North so you hit that twice during the race. Early on from miles 3.5-10 and later 20-26. Nothing a RD can do about weather, at least it wasn't raining. Brat, beer, and cheese at the finish if you wanted that stuff. Only downside is they don't do age group awards just top 3 male and female overall. I wish they did age group awards give out like some cheese curds or something, especially since you coin yourself as a cheese marathon.

Wakarusa Maple Syrup 5k is a nice race in a small town of Wakarusa, IN. Top 3 winners get a big maple syrup and top 3 get a smaller version. T-shirts were cotton, but race price was only around $20. Also in my bag was flyers to other races and a TSC hat. Cookies post race were nice. Since it was a 5k no aid stations were needed but food was at the end. Parking was easy. If the race got bigger bathrooms could be an issue might have to address that in the future. Great arrows on the race course. Overall if you are looking for a 5k I would try this one out.
