I'm running a half or full marathon in all 50 states, so this was the natural choice for Arkansas, as I have seen the awesome bling and heard good things about the race. Overall it did not disappoint. More details for different components of the race are below:

Medal: This was one of the best parts of the race. The half marathon medal is one of the largest medals I now own, and the full marathon medal was more than double the size! Every year is a different theme, and this year was candy, so the medal modeled this theme - cute!

Shirt: This was a disappointment. There were no gender-specific shirts, and even going down to the youth large, it was still way too big. It's not a huge deal, as I run a lot of races and have a ton of shirts, but it's annoying when you pay money for a race and the shirt is one you'll never wear.

Expo: Pretty much what I expected for a race this size. It had all the basics.

Aid Stations: There weren't enough aid stations, when compared to other races I've done. It wasn't too warm (and it was raining the whole time), so it was ok, but had it been warmer, I would have struggled. The water stops were also small and only on one side of the street in most cases.

Elevation: I was told it was hilly, but that's the marathon course. There wasn't anything super challenging, elevation-wise, for the half marathon.

Spectators: The crowd support was great. Given it was raining the entire time, I was happy to still see a large number of spectators.

Finish festival: The plus was that it was held inside and there was chocolate milk (and a coffee stand!) The food was pretty bad, though - rubbery pasta, banana, and fruit cups were the only options. Not even any salty foots were available. I don't usually eat a lot directly after a race, but I usually want something salty.

If you want to cross off Arkansas or get a massive medal, I recommend this race. I did enjoy the course, as well. Little Rock has some fun areas that we explored on Saturday and a bit after the race. At the Corner is a great brunch spot we found after the race, and there are many other places to eat along the River Walk.
