Oh man! I know i wasn't quite ready for a half, but even if I was this race would have been hard still! 75% of the course was UPHILL with the way it was designed (you finish uphill). The rocky terrain made it difficult for foot placement as well. But don't take that the wrong way - this race was well worth it and excellently produce! I was looking for a trail race, a challenge, and I found it. Beautiful views are you run amongst tall wind turbines. The organization was great and the finisher's food (baked potato bar and a beer!!!) was perfect! The medal was super awesome - a wooden wind turbine cutout. The shirt was cool, but they only had unisex sizing. Nevertheless, if I'm back in Ellensburg during this time, I would do this race again for sure!

I may be biased now, as I work for this company, but I ran this race far before I working for 3W Races or was even an ambassador. I found this race years ago with some friends as we were looking for a St. Patricks Themed race. The 7.77k intrigued us. I love the unique distance - not too short and not that long. The course is even marked by Kilometers, making it fun to track your progress. The course itself isn't that difficult (a balloon, out and back) and only has one small climb. It's on packed gravel with a little bit of concrete. But that's not the best part of this race. The expo is in a unique location (the Westminster Promenade) and has a stage where there's a live DJ, dancing, costume contest and more! PLUS, there's ALL YOU CAN EAT LUCKY CHARMS! That's pretty awesome! All of these things make this my favorite race!

I've done a few of the races by All-Out. I love the owners/staff a lot - they are all super nice! This is a very reliable race. You know exactly what you're going to get each time (will all their events). There's always a lot of sponsors, prizes, etc and the course is alway accurate and well marked. The only thing I don't like, is the medals and shirt are kind of, how do I put it, blah. They are very unique and if you've run a few races, the medals/logos/swag all look the same but with a different name! I'd recommend this race if you are looking for a reliable, accurate course and want a timed run in a friendly atmosphere! If you're looking for unique, frilly or fun you might want to do one and then do some other races (companies).

Although for a great cause, I have a love-hate relationship with the Race for the Cure. There's been a bunch of stigma with the Komen foundation over the years, but without getting into that, let's just focus on the race itself. In Denver, it seems this race brings anyone in the state of CO that's a runner into Denver; and everyone that's not a runner as well. I've been doing this race since there was only 100 people and they served bagels at the end and had long sleeved shirts. Now, iconic cotton tees, are your race shirt every year with some play on the pink ribbon. The course is actually a decent course - challenging and fun, but the mass amount of people makes it un-fun. Then again, you're probably not running this race to compete. I'd say this is more a "fun run." It's untimed and like I said before, super crowded. My mom and I do run this race every year to honor my friends and family that are survivors of breast cancer. I'd say, run it to show your support; avoid it if you don't have anyone to support/run with and are looking for a real race. If anything, the expo at the end is worth it - tons of free food samples and swag!

I ran this race back in 2015. Most years, this race has BEAUTIFUL weather! The year I chose to run it, it randomly snow, melted into freezing puddles and the course had to be re-routed last minute! Despite the challenges, the racing company overcame all and it was an awesome event. I did the 5k (three options to choose from). At first, I tried avoiding the icy puddles, but decided it wasn't worth the trouble and decided to go right through them, spraying myself (and probably those around me) with freezing cold water! It paid off, and I placed in my age group! :) Finishers for the 10 miler get a beautiful medal and everyone gets a flower for this ladies only event!
