I decided to start running, so what better event to do as my first than Glass City (and a marathon). The price was right, there was a training group, I knew the course and it was flat going thru scenic parks and University of Toledo campus. Parking on the UT campus is plentiful and easy. There was a big finish on the 50 yard line of the Glass Bowl stadium. The crowd cheered as I finished. My name, as a first time marathoner, was announced as I crossed the finish line. I received a cool medal, shirt, and first timer coin. There was hot food and cold beer waiting for me at the after-party, just yards from the finish line. It was a great springtime marathon. I've run either the full or half marathon each year since. The volunteers and race officials were great. AZH
