I was pretty excited to run the Super Santa 5K in Morristown. There aren't too many races in December, in NJ. There were lots of people dressed up in red and green, as santa/elves/reindeer which made it fun. Like most of Super Hero Racing's events, they're mediocre, no frills. They're always very well organized, with enough parking, and the courses are pretty nice with a major hill or two. It's just disappointing that its a lackluster event. Shirts are ok quality, no swag, and the race day area or expo is pretty non-existant. Again, it's a nice run and well organized, just nothing special.

This was my first time attending a Runner's World event. This was also my first 10K road race. Runner's World put on an excellent event and I can't wait to go to next year's race! I was worried about parking after all the hype of how limited it would be. I arrived at 7:30 and had no problems parking in a lot super close. The only thing was my lot wouldn't allow an exit until after 11:30 (not a problem for us, the lot opened up around 11 anyways). Bib and package pick up was so smooth and an easy process. There were plenty of staff to point you in the right direction. There were no lines or wait time for pick up. We waited for the expo to open up at 8:00. The only disappointing thing was when the expo opened at 8:00, there were still vendors that were not at their tables or set up.. not a big deal though.

While waiting for my 10K to start we watched the finish line of the 5K. Great cheering sections and the overall energy was fantastic at this event. The 10K course had a few hills but nothing major. It was a great run through Bethlehem. Enough water/aid stations along the way. The 10K had lots of people lined up and down the finish line which made for a great finish. The medal for this race was pretty cool. The shirt sizes ran a little small, no other freebies. There were also lots of seminars, dinners, group workouts available through out the weekend that I heard through friends were great but unfortunately I could not attend.

I loved this race. It made my first 10K a memorable one. Next year I want to run the five and dime. I highly recommend running at the Runner's World Half event.
