As an older runner running my first full marathon I asked a lot of experienced folks who had run multiple marathons which one they would recommend and the overwhelming response was the BCS Marathon. Race day came with perfect temperature 51 degrees and lots of rain, but it didn't dampen the spirit of the race management or the aid stations. The pacer I ran with was nice to talk to for the 20 miles that I could keep up with him and I became a marathoner about 10 minutes behind him. The race had enough people that I was never "alone" on the course, but not so many people that we were on top of each other after about a mile. Excellent parking, great attitude from all of the volunteers and that special medal presentation from a young lady with Downs syndrome who gave me a big smile and told me I should be proud. A great experience that has me coming back for 2016.
