Medal was of St. Louis Cathedral on a Mardi Gras bead
Finishers jacket was decent with zipper pockets

Elevation Difficulty - 0/5 (5 being most difficult)
Pancake flat course
A couple small overpasses on the down/back toward end of course

Ample aid stations
Everyone was out of Biofreeze
Helpful staff and provided ice

Water Stations - 5/5
Plenty of water and never had to wait

Course - 4/5
First half:
Covered in pothole Shady
Familiar streets & landmark
1 down/back

Second half:
Pretty smooth
All sun
A few quiet areas after the split
1 down/back
Beautiful tree lined finish

Organization - 4/5
Didn't encounter any problems, but start of the race took too long to start for those non-elites.
Race start 7:30. About 26 corrals. Corral 13 started at 8:05am.
Let marathoners go first at an early time: Only 25% run the marathon and it takes twice as long.

Parking/Transportation - 3/5
We walked to the start from the Hilton a half mile away because we stayed there.
Parking in New Orleans is one of the most expensive in the nation
A bus brought us back to the start, but we had quite a walk to get there
Parking at the finish had a price tag

Staying There - 3/5
Just about every hotel is expensive unless you stay out of the French Quarter/ Downtown Area
It's not super easy to get around town once you're parked. Plan on walking

Crowds - 4/5
The crowds that were there were very entertaining and went all out
A few spots were quiet once we hit the split, but knew there would be excitement soon

Nice Louisiana Marathon merchandise
A variety of vendors, but could have used more apparel selections

T-shirts/Swag- 4/5
Shirts were gray with distance running on the back & nice design
Men's shirt a little short, women's shirt was specific sizing and fit me perfectly
Gear bag was really nice design and custom with zipper on the side
Beautiful finisher's medal

Elevation Difficulty- 2/5
Some say it's flat, but it depends where you are from
No gigantic hills, but enough to make you work a little harder if you train on very flat land
One medium overpass that you cross twice due to down/back

Water/Aid Stations- 4/5
Plenty of water stations and volunteers handing out extras
No shortage of porta potties, but lacking tissue in 3 I used

Course- 4/5
Beautiful scenery of lakes, trees, & LSU on the course
Some sections had a lot of potholes

Crowds- 4/5
First half of course was covered in spectators cheering and entertaining us
Second half had a lot of spectators but thinned out as we increased miles
By mile 23 no one was left but the runners

Organization/Communication- 5/5
Very organized
Gear check was easy
Posts to Facebook and gets you excited about their event
Answers and responds to questions

Parking/Transportation- 5/5
Although I didn't need this, there is parking close to the race/start finish
Some people staying at hotels away received bus transportation

Post Race Party- 5/5
Runners could sample "Real" food using their food/drink bracelet
Live band
Recovery tent close to the finish line

Ran through questionable neighborhoods; there are much better options
A large section was on a very rough road

Pretty quiet probably due to course location

Police presence noted
Not a lot of social media presence or communication with participants
Hard to get questions answered unless directly to company

Parking/Transportation- 4/5
Easily transported to start line from Superdome in nice buses
Return transportation to start line (if you parked there) wouldn't start until 11:00am

Post Race Party- 4/5
Exciting finish in Champions Square
Cowboy Mouth performed (depends if that's your thing or not)
Plenty of food
Nice area to socialize with other runners

Would recommend for a training run, etc only if you can get it at a super duper price
