This is the 5th time I have run this race, and it gets better every year. I love that it's Easter weekend, and I have worn the same bunny ears for 5 years running! The weather was humid but not too hot, the post race party was fabulous, and the course is nice and flat. There was a new finish line this year which was nice. We stayed at the Hyatt downtown which is where the expo was, and where the race started so it was VERY convenient.

Pros and cons:
Pros:
- Huge race, family oriented, lots of runners + walkers
- flat flat course
- great spectators
-post race party with free food and drinks, live entertainment
-first 500 finishers get a poster
-run through french quarter and shaded tress (for part of the race)
- lots of volunteers
-buses back downtown to take you to or from the race before/after

Cons:
-no proof of time for corrals so lots of congestion in the beginning with people walking
- pot holes all over streets, watch your footing
- wait in line for school buses to take you back downtown after the race

runDisney races are so well organized and managed so well for the large amount of people. The corral system works great, the expo was huge and amazing, and the race shirts are gender specific!
pros:
-mostly flat course
-running through theme parks
-amazing bling
-wonderful plentiful volunteers and aid stations/med tents
-characters on the course
-mild weather

cons:
-race starts at 5:30, must be on a bus no later than 4:00 am
-when not running through theme parks, the highway gets boring
-so many people. VERY crowded
- runs out of merchandise at the expo

I love runDisney races and Princess is such a fun girls weekend. They do need more official merchandise at the expo and maybe a new race course. I love the volunteers and spectators, but am not a fan of the 2:45 wake up call. Overall very well organized, there are just a LOT of runners!

Overall this is a very fun race in a fun city. The course is beautiful, the bands were great, and the weather and after party were great. A few things though, the roads are SO terrible I suffered from hip pain very early on in the race. Also, waiting for buses a the end when you just want to get home is frustrating. There wasn't gatorade at every aid station, and the t-shirts ran small. There were plenty of volunteers though. It's VERY flat so good for a PR if you can manage to not roll your ankle. LOVE the race medal though!

This is one of my favorite races. It is always the Saturday of Easter weekend, and we usually have great weather! The volunteers are great, the aid stations are fully stocked, the after party is SO much fun (free food and beer!) My biggest qualm is that the streets of New Orleans are terrible and the pot holes will really injure you if you aren't careful Other than that, I love how flat the course is.
My only other concern is parking. Since the race starts downtown and ends at city park, if you don't park at the end you have to take a bus back downtown and last year we waited in line for 30 mintues because they were only loading 1-2 buses at a time.
Great things:
-nice expo for a local race
-you get a medal!
-free food at the afterparty + live music
-t shirt
-corrals and seeded corrals
-first 500 get a poster
