My husband & I ran the 8km run on Saturday of race weekend. I planned it as an easy shake-out run before the Full on Sunday.
Expo - My only comment here, is there needs to be signage at the Convention Center. It is a huge, busy building and we had a tough time finding the location. Even the Center staff were not sure and we were sent in the wrong direction.
The t-shirt is not great for this race (I loved the Full shirt). And the medal is ok. But the price point on registration for this race ($35) made it an easy addition to the weekend.
Course - The 8km race started at 10:45am, on time. We had some significant trouble finding the entrance to the secure zone and start line. It needed more signage. I was not able to find a map of the start online either. Once we found our way, the race was great. It was very warm so we enjoyed an easy run along the river.
Access - we stayed near City Hall at the Marriott Residence Inn and were easily able to walk to the start and finish. There were a few aid stations with lots of water available.
I would recommend this race as part of a race weekend experience.

This was my second Full. I chose this race based on reviews and Runner's World recommendation for "good for beginners". It was a great choice. I finished 5:08 and was happy with that due to the very high winds. It was slightly colder than expected, but otherwise the weather was as predicted.
T-shirts & expo & medals - very good. My only comment here, is there needs to be signage at the Convention Center. It is a huge, busy building and we had a tough time finding the location. Even the Center staff were not sure and we were sent in the wrong direction. Not great, when you are trying to rest for the race. I love the long sleeved shirt and medal.
Course - There were plenty of aid stations (almost every mile) and well stocked as I passed them. The course passed along the Delaware River and that was industrial but it was early in the race, so not a big problem for me. There are two significant hills in the first half, but otherwise it is relatively flat. I did enjoy the run through Fairmont Park and along the Schuykill River. Although the wind was brutal going out to Manayunk but mostly at our backs heading back to the finish.
Access - we stayed near City Hall at the Marriott Residence Inn and were easily able to walk to the start and finish. My comment here is, again signage. We had ran the 8km on Saturday. We had a very hard time finding the secure entrance and the start line. It was helpful to have seen that for Sunday's Full.
I did not use the gear check, but it looked well organized. The lines for the potta potties were huge and causing some anxiety for people in earlier corrals.
The race started on time and the corrals moved along well to the start. But again, there was no banner for the start or at the finish. It was hard to tell how close the start was waiting in the corral. I did wonder if the scaffolding and start/finish line banners were removed for safety due to the high winds.
Overall I was very happy with this race. Philly is a great city. And I would highly recommend this race weekend.

This was our annual girls get-away race. We were all pleased with the overall experience. The race tshirts were really nice. And the expo was good, although very busy Saturday afternoon.
5km race Saturday - this was a fun way to start the weekend and earn a 5k medal and the Remix medal. I always figure I am travelling for a race, why not get some extra bling. It was well organized. The route was along the river. The finish was very good and organized. There were lots of porta-potties. The start/finish had easy access from the public light rail transit. My only criticism here is: there should have been signs from the nearest transit stop to the start. I happened to travel from the Westin hotel downtown on the same train as the Westin Run Concierge group. That saved me much stress finding my way.
Half marathon Sunday - the gear check was efficient and great. My truck was "Go-Hel", which was rather funny. The start was well organized and lots of porta-potties. The beginning of the race was not very scenic, really through an industrial area. But then beautiful after that section. There was a long hill at 9miles, which lead to a beautiful view and a great drum band at the top. The bands were good and cheering sections had lots of energy. The aid stations were ok. Two of them appeared to be out of water, but that was more due to runners only taking from the first part of the station. The finish line was well organized and not too congested. There was lots of food and water and gatorade available. The post-race awards master of ceremony was not good. His comments were quite insulting many times to some of the elite runners that did not make their time goals and to recreational runners for being slow. I did not quite understand the need for those types of comments. The post-race concert was very good and enjoyable in the warm sun.
The overall experience was great.
