I mistakenly put this race as 5 mile but it was 5k, so apologizes for that... This was my 2nd year participating in the 5K. Last year was windy and this race has a few hills so it was rough but this year it was a bit warmer and the wind was minimal so I found it to be more enjoyable. Overall it was fun. There were plenty of port a pottys and hand sanitizer. I also made sure to wear my sunglasses because the sun is shining pretty brightly on this trail and also keep the wind from blowing in your eyes. The run is located in DC Ranch area so you do see some desert shrub and it is a nice area. The shirt you receive is unisex so go for the smaller size. There was quite a few vendors at the end and hot coffee at a few of them. This race is timed. Most importantly this race is for a great cause it supports Ryan House a 501(c)3 nonprofit that relies on the community support to fulfill its mission of provide respite and palliative care to children with life-threatening conditions and, as needed, end-of-life care.

I got to this race to pick up my packet at 7am. I got great parking right in the mall just about 100 feet from the race site. It was very cold at 42 degrees. My allergies were kicking in. This race course was pretty even, not difficult at all. The course was around the streets near the mall. I didn't think much of the expo they had there, I just see anything worth going to look at or browse. There seemed to be a lot of port a pottys. After the race you wait in line to get your choice of pancakes or crepes with a piece of sausage. I got the crepes & they were delicious. There were tables with all kinds of toppings and syrup to use on them. I received a race shirt, I got a women's medium, it fits but they run small so if I do this run next year I will opt for the large.

I LOVED the shirt they gave for this race, it wasn't your typical race shirt, it was a denim blue color & had groovy print & a nice fit. I really enjoyed this race because the weather was perfect, being it was on November 1st. The road was level and flat so it made for a pleasant run. I did this race with my Fleet Feet Scottsdale No Boundaries running group friends, everyone seemed to like this race. There was 1 water station at the 2 mile marker. The expo was pretty nice. There was lots of port a potty's however, it would appear that many people waited till they got to the race to have their morning dump :/ Overall I would do this race again & recommend it :)

Fleet Feet Scottsdale hosted a run to benefit for Water For Our World, a non profit organization that collects water for those who need it most in the heat of Arizona's summer. Including the Phoenix Rescue Mission. It was at 6:30am which was perfect for our summer weather. They made it fun. You could be wet at the end if you wished. They collected cases of water for the homeless & home bound & if you donated water you received tickets as well to be entered in fr awesome prizes. The run was perfect, wasn't hilly and it was a great run!
