While it may not have all of the beautiful scenery that the full Richmond Marathon has this course leaves a lot for the runner to enjoy during the race. From a downtown start, a quick jaunt through Bryan Park, through some beautiful neighborhoods before a downhill finish on Brown's Island this course has it all.

Besides the scenery the course is filled with so many spectators with their signs, costumes, and of course cowbells all cheering the runner (even calling you by your name as it's on your bib) along that you never lack for that little pick me up we all know we need. The race provided aid stations are also plentiful on the course but there are also other "aid" stations set up b the aforementioned spectators offering things besides water and Powerade to include junk food and cold beer.

And the end of the race is amazing, a quick down hill finish to Brown's Island where you awarded your finisher medal and this year we received a hat and blanket too. The post race food and party like atmosphere almost made me forget it was a little chilly.

From the start of packet pickup to the end of the race this race is run very well as things were just smooth. I would definitely recommend this race to anyone as it truly is one of the friendliest atmospheres I have run in.
