This was only my fifth race and first Half! And it was a great experience... the whole day was well orchestrated.

Starting and finishing at Keeneland was such a nice treat, and with the course winding through picturesque horse farms, the scenery does not disappoint. The both races (7 & 13.1) share some rolling hills, but nothing outrageous. There were plenty of aid stations along the way with Gatorade, water and Sword Hydration. Music along the course was fun, too. A good mix of styles to keep you entertained and going.

Due to a supplier issue the standard tech tee didn't arrive in time, but the replacement shirt was WAY better! A t-shirt weight hoodie with the RTB logo printed in all it's vintage glory is something that I have worn everyday since the race. I love it.

Post race beer, pizza, huge medal and snacks were excellent. A live band pulled you across the finish line and the atmosphere was a ton of fun. Medal engraving, massages and food trucks rounded out the options.

Parking... be sure to arrive early! We got stuck on Versailles Road for about 40 minutes and made it to the start with 5 minutes to spare, so be sure to try and get there by 8!

Other great perks are the race photos. As a photographer, I really liked the ability to enter your bib number and the photo company will collect all the pictures of you into a Facebook album that is on your page by Saturday night/Sunday morning. Really neat feature!

I really enjoyed my time at the RTB. I will definitely be back.

The Medical Center 10k Classic was my only my third race ever, and my first 10k, so I was really excited. The weather was perfect and there were nearly 700 runners this year for the 35th running of the 10k Classic. The course starts on the campus of Western Kentucky University and winds through downtown Bowling Green before ending in the WKU football stadium full of fanfare. The experience and community involvement is spectacular, making this a great first race and fun morning. Definitely recommended.
