The Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon is the largest annual road race in Kentucky, drawing upon one of the state’s most prized traditions - the Kentucky Derby. The entire city is energized for the Derby and all its pageantry, making May a wonderful time to visit Louisville.

Runners experience the excitement in the city around this two-week festival, including a free voucher to enjoy the horse races at Churchill Downs on opening night. Multiple runners cited running through Churchill Downs as a key race highlight, and you see the horses training for the big day!
