Usually the last sunday of the year, the Yukon Do It it a half or full marathon in Port Orchard WA. The route is only 13.1 miles so if you do the full, you do it twice.
T-shirt/Swag: I did this in 2014 and LOVED the shirt. it was a light weight tech long sleeve shirt with a hood. 2015 was a cotton long sleeve shirt, so I can't run in it, but still nice for the winter. The medal is very simple but very pretty.
Aid stations: There was plenty of water stations, which all had gu and electrolytes as well. There were not that many medical areas, but all the station workers had cars and ways to get a hold of the organizers if something happened.
Course Scenery: Along the water it was beautiful, you could even see the ferries coming and going. At the beginning (and end) of the race you are more in town but for the most part you are out by the water. The course is relatively flat, until the half way mark. Right before you turn off the road at mile 7.5, there is a CAMEL in the yard. Sometime he's out at the fence watching everyone and sometimes he's back by the house. Love him. Once you turn you you do up a slight hill, into a park and around the loop, and back out. There is bathroom here you can use. You head back down the hill and round the corner to that Camel and then back to the start. This year it was snowing, so I never got over heated, but it made the park even more pretty than it usually is. The shoulder is slightly chamfered in some areas so running more on the street or way off the road is sometimes easier on the legs. The road is NOT closed so watch out for cars.
Expo: There is no expo. You show up race day to pick up your bib and shirt.
Elevation: Most of the race is pretty flat. Although there is a hill at the turn around point.
Parking: Simple: The race is very small, about 200 people total. We were able to park in the lot with the start/finsih line.
Race Management: Pretty simple and very responsive. before the race they were able to answer questions quickly and during the race they made sure things were done correctly.
I love this race and will likely do it again this year.
