Scott Quirico's thoughts:

While it was not the 26-mile party I was led to believe it would be, it was a fun race and a great weekend long event that I enjoyed and would run again.

Perhaps because of the weather (30's and wet) the crowd support was not as much as I was hoping, but there was some small pockets of parties and everyone who I did see was very enthusiastic and, yes, there was lots of alcohol on course. I enjoyed Fireball and jello shots, but there was also lots of beer, mimosas and other liquor offered by spectators who were really having a good time and made the course fun. The course is also fun on its own, as it meanders through all the neighborhoods and sites of Tulsa, along the river and through university campuses and downtown.

The race was fun, but I really like the rest of the event throughout the weekend. There are shorter races on Saturday, along with a good expo and various panels and talks. A highlight was seeing and running with running legend Bart Yasso who announced the races, gave talks and organized a shakeout run on Saturday. The swag and medals are also great, and everything is organized well. It was the little touches throughout the weekend and the unique aspects like the Center of the Universe Detour that made it an enjoyable event overall that I'm happy to have run.
