I absolutely loved this half marathon. 2019 was the inaugural half marathon, and I cannot believe how well it was put together! The expo was pretty good for being the first year, the start line was in the beautiful Smothers Park (right next to the Ohio River), and for many that meant walking right up to the start line from the hotel!

The course was flat and was really nice to run through parts of Owensboro, but my favorite part we ran past was at mile 1. Mile 1 and the first water stop was at Wendell Foster Center, which is for people with developmental disabilities and support. Running past the reason we were all out there really was a special moment.

Race management did a fabulous job with email communication, as well as pamphlets at the expo with race information and discounts in the area for race weekend.

I have already booked my hotel room for 2020 and cannot wait to see what year 2 brings for this great half marathon and the cause it supports.
