The race was a smaller event but was decently put on. The "expo" was a table at the mall to pick up your packet/shirt. Even the 5k runners were expected to pick it up the night before which i found strange.. The event was held at Wausau's Marathon Park. Ample parking was available even though the full and half marathon racers had left. You ran through the park, around the neighborhood surrounding the park and then back through the park. The park is nice but small. It works for a 5k race but i wouldn't want to do anything longer (the Half and Full ran through town). The event was well run with volunteers at every turn. The race was chip timed. The course was not overly challenging. There were only a a few small hills. I believe there was a water stop that we passed twice but in this short of a race I didn't use it. The course did come up short according to my GPS at 3.05 miles. Water and/or sports drink was provided at the end and you had a coupon for a beverage and food (I believe the options were burgers and brats).. I had a burger and beer (yes at 9am....it's WI). The shirt's were a cool design although they didn't seem to be a "tech" material like advertised. Overall I enjoyed the event and may do the half next year.
