Aubrey 's thoughts:

There are good things about this event, but most of them aren't with the race itself (see list below). To be fair, I grew up going to the Air Force museum (where the race begins/ends), and while the museum is awesome (definitely recommend), some of the excitement of seeing the planes was probably lost on me. For a plane or military history enthusiast who hasn't already been there a million times, I'm sure it is more inspiring.

Here's what I liked:
-The Expo & swag
-Hearing Dr. Cucuzzella speak (if you don't know who he is you'll want to look him up!)
-The chance to thank many soldiers for their service
-The planes at the end and the aid station volunteers

Here's what I didn't like:
-The traffic back-up trying to park and lack of markers to help you find your car later
-boring course with no fans because of being on the military base
-Not much of a post-race party

Having said all that, I chose to "recommend" the race because it isn't a badly run race and could be a great race for a PR if you are an competitive/experienced runner who doesn't need the crowd energy. I would not recommend it for a first-timer or recreational runner looking for the full race experience.
