Eddie Coleman's thoughts:

A Local Running Club -- The Bluegrass Runners -- have taken over this race. While I have full confidence of their ability to conduct a first-class race experience, I can only review the race from 2008.

This is another popular, well-attended race in Lexington. The course winds throughout Keeneland, a famous horse racing venue on the outskirts of Lexington Proper.

The course is flat, with a few rolling hills. Anyone who is accustomed to racing or training in Kentucky shouldn't find these small rises difficult at all. There is one small, slightly steeper hill with about half mile left in the race, and that tends to cause some lose finishing spots.

When I ran this race back in 2008, the price was pretty steep, but the swag we received was awesome! This was the first race in which I received a jacket for running, and wore that thing everywhere!

The new directors have an updated website with links to photos and a list of charities that the race fees benefit.

It looks like this race will continue its tradition in very capable hands.
