This is my third time running the Surf City Half Marathon. I ran it in 2008 and 2009 and my most recent time in 2016 was as good as I remember it, but many, many more runners. For this race, not at all a bad thing. There was plenty of road room/width, it never seemed crowded or smooched. The marathoners started over an hour before the half marathon crowd, so most of them were on their separate stretch by the time we came plowing through. There were pacers available, the crowds and volunteers were plentiful and the course was enjoyable. Sure, there were a few inclines (and the winds are sometimes a little strong), but when pairing that with a sunny, 70 degree day, it doesn't get much better. Oh and the swag (tshirt and medal), per usual, were awesome!!
