Ran this race as my 2021 turkey trot on thanksgiving day. It was the first time it was ever held. It runs along the same course as the Santa Rosa Marathon 5k held in August. It starts and ends in downtown Santa Rosa.

The race was no frills, which was great as most folks wanted to run and then go spend time with their families. One neat feature of the race is that there were two different start times: one for folks who were planning on finishing in under 30 minutes and one for others who were going to take the course at a more leisurely pace. They also hold a costume contest for those who are feeling festive.

The majority of the course is on a narrow, shaded bike trail. The few turns were well-marked so there is no getting lost.

There were no official race photos for each runner, though I don't fault them since this was a new event. The race shirt was long sleeve that became a running wardrobe staple for me all winter long.
