The 7th annual Runner’s World Half & Festival, October 19-21 in Bethlehem, PA welcomes runners of all levels to a one-of-a-kind weekend that covers a full 26.2 miles over three days, from a 3.8-mile trail race to a half marathon. Join us for one, or race them all with one of our multi-distance challenges. The racecourses will feature Bethlehem’s historic neighborhoods, including some of the town’s original 1741 settlement, Moravian College, and the former Bethlehem Steel complex—where the backbone of the nation was literally forged.

Brenda Morris's thoughts:

I was really excited to attend this Festival for runners. We arrived on Friday as it opened with no line waiting for packet pick up :) I waited too long to register for the NEW Friday night Trail race, but we really enjoyed the FREE kids races and warm up yoga session with Live music! What a fabulous way to start the weekend. It was also our first time visiting Bethlehem and the SteelStacks which are beautiful, so we drove around to do some quick sightseeing and get dinner, everything was very close and convenient.

I registered for the Hat trick which is 3 races. The 5k and 10k are on Saturday and the half is on Sunday. Its an awesome challenge and everyone was having so much fun! :) I received one bib for all 3 races, a tech long sleeve shirt, a winter beanie, and a pair of socks. Bart Yasso and all of the Runners World staff had so much enthusiasm and energy! Talking, running and taking selfies with everyone, with so much positive energy. The aid stations were also very happy and supportive, which on a hilly course is an added benefit.

Sat. after the 2 races we walked around Old Historic Bethlehem and had a fabulous meal at Mama Nina Foccacheria, which was a suggestion in the pamphlet the race had handed out in our goodie bag. We had fresh bread and pizza which was fabulous, and great fuel for the half Sunday morning. The temperatures started going down, so we went to the Steelstacks Indoor Mall and Sands Casino where the start/finish area is located. There's something for everyone over the weekend.
There's a full schedule of seminars on a wide variety of running topics that are all free to attend. A free dog race, and vendors handing out free samples. Did I miss anything? :) I plan on returning again next year, as it was so much fun and I loved the energy and location! Put this on your list.
