Brittney Beavin's thoughts:

This was race is so much fun and a perfect course for any level runner!
The expo was decent for a local race and packet pickup was simple and smooth.
Race day was very well organized. Easy directions for parking options and clear starting location. Bag drop was nice and streamlined. Pre-race was fun with music and a good amount of space to spread out and wait for start time.
The course itself was great. You start next to the Alamo with a cannon shot to start the race! The course is overall very flat and a majority runs through the more historic parts of downtown San Antonio. The race finishes with a portion along the River Walk and then back to the Alamo for the finish line.
My only course complaints would be that I wish you ran a bit more of the River Walk and the lack of portapotties along the route was tough. I had to go and finally saw two set up and ended up waiting so long in the line that I just bailed and ran some more but it was a very long time until the next spot. So more along the course would have been nice.
Once at the finish line, you’re handed a medal which is absolutely well worth this run. The medal is huge and a really cool design. Post-race food was fantastic. I was given a banana, chocolate milk, water, Krispy Kreme donut and there was a large area of tents with a ton of hot food being served up by volunteers. This was amazing. The food was fantastic and having hot food after a rather chilly, wet race was perfection.
I would absolutely recommend this race for any level of runner and if I were in still in TX I would run this race again in a heartbeat.
