Bradford Zinnecker's thoughts:
This is a small town local 5K that is paired with the town days as is so common in Iowa. What's great about this 5K is that it is on a well-maintained converted rail bed. The trail is finely crushed limestone and hidden amongst the trees. It is an out and back, running to an old and beautiful bridge that is part of the local scenery. There are a couple of hills to note, but mostly this is a fairly flat trail with the typical railroad grade so often used. The race is fairly simple and straightforward. You get a number and a t-shirt, there are water and a couple of snack options afterwards. Everything is very low key and intimate, a hidden race amongst the trees.
