Bradley Goodenough's thoughts:

Summary: This is an awesome, totally run-able, and fun downhill course. If you are looking to PR or just want to run an enjoyable downhill course, you need to run this race.

Race management: Overall the race was well run, although there were some what I will call 'first time challenges.' Leading up to the race, the communication was excellent but unfortunately, communication can't fix a broken process. The parking/shuttle situation was communicated very clearly but the process proved to be a pain. I understand the race is dealing with an odd point to point race but the shuttles need to be run more frequently to avoid a lot of standing around in lines. I am confident the race will sort out a better process for years following. It is worth noting the start time for this race is 5:30am but because of the shuttle service just mentioned, you must arrive much earlier in order to catch a ride start line (there is no parking at the start line).

Course: The entire course is downhill with the exception of some very small and manageable uphill sections. The uphill sections are hardly worth noting as they are very minor and actually a bit appreciated after running downhill so much. The course winds through side streets that are plenty wide so you get a nice balance of views and room to run. The course is really what makes this race unique and fun as you really get to enjoy the beauty of the PNW.

Aid stations: There were plenty of aid stations along the course and they were spread out so there wasn't any crowding. The downside of the aid stations was you really didn't know if you were going to get water or powerade as there did not seem to be much organization and all the cups were the same.

Overall, this is an awesome race and despite the logistics and aid station challenges, I will be back to run it again.
