Overall: Fun way to start off the new year.
T-shirt/Swag: Long sleeve cotton shirt. no medal
Aid stations: No aid stations along the course, just at the start/finish
Course Scenery: You start in a parking lot at run down the road into Magnuson Park. There is a slight trail you run on and head down to the foot road along the water. Here you head up a bit to the turn around and run all the way back along the waterfront to the finish. You cross a timing mat and have the option of the polar bear plunge or staying dry. At this point I'm usually warm from the run so I go in. You just run down a boat ramp, dunk yourself, and run back up, grab your stuff and run across the finish line.
Expo: No expo
Elevation: nothing of note
Parking: Not bad, about a 5 min walk from the start/finish area. Close enough you can get there and changed without getting too cold.
Race management: No issues.
Other: Finish area has Chili (and a veggie option) and hot chocolate. You can do a bag check but if you're parked close enough just leave your stuff in the car, the line for the gear check can be bad. They do have a changing area as well.
Love this short, fun easy race.
