Lisa McNair's thoughts:

If you have done a Ragnar trail race, all I can say is this one is worth doing. If you have not done a Ragnar trail race, I might not start with this one if I were you.

This was my first Ragnar experience. I was part of an ultra team... each of us planned to do about 29 miles. Each f us would do each of the green, yellow and red loops twice. Unfortunately, 2 of the 4 in our group were injured part way through and so my team mate did 37 miles and I did 41 in order to finish. That sucked.

But the views are amazing. The Ragnar race crew is awesome. Because if injuries we ran behind schedule. They have a system in place so you can still finish by doubling up on later runs.\, so Suzanne and I (with help from my hubby) were able to finish the race and collect our medals.

The red loop is a bitch. It's called the "Mother of Crack" trail. For Suzanne and I, it will always be the MF Mother of F'ing Crack Trail. :) But despite the challenges, this was a fun event, well-run, with beautiful scenery. I would do it again, but probably not as an ultra team.
