I ran this race in 2010. It was a good time trial for a half and my first experience racing at this particular distance. The experience reminded me of a larger 10K, with the start being in a residential area and running through a very hilly part of Iroquois Park in Louisville.
The race began with the Papa John's Camaro leading the way.
The park has some hills, so prepare yourself and conserve some energy.
After the park route, the race is pretty much flat to downhill, with the finish in Papa John's Stadium. It was nice to run a victory lap and hear your name called over the loudspeaker.
Spectators can sit in the stadium seats and watch their friends or family member finish.
After the race, Papa John's pizza is provided for all finishers. There is no medal for finishing, but the long-sleeved shirt from that year is still in good shape to this day.
