Jennifer 's thoughts:

This fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society challenges women to fight dirty - in a good way. The challenging 5K obstacle and mud run takes place outside of Peterborough, Ontario at Devil's Elbow Ski Resort. Open to women only, athletes run up - and down - the ski runs in an event that not only tests for physical strength, but your mental strength too. That said, there is no shame in walking the course - something I did as well.

Obstacles are fun and for the most part, easy. A mud pit, ice bath, 300' water slide, tire hop, tire swing, rope web, climbing frame and mud crawl are well spaced throughout the course. There is plenty of opportunities to take in the scenery high above on the top of the ski hills.

Aid stations are stocked with Gatorade and water and staffed by helpful volunteers. Port-o-potties are at each aid station and at the start and finish lines.

A fun and supportive vibe thrives at this event, making it a must-try on any mud runners race list.
