My friend and I signed up to run the Massacre Marathon Relay as a 2 person team. Runners can choose from the relay (running from a team of 2-8) or they can tackle the marathon distance solo. The course is in Country Park, making 1.6 mile loops around it. Runners alternate laps passing a timing baton. If you want to be considered for prizes, a 4 person team must exchange after each lap. My friend and I ran several loops before we switched (which is allowed for a 2 person team).
The crowd support is awesome because each lap starts and ends at the same spot. There is a ton of food and beverages out for the runners. There is also an area for runners to make "camps" with tents. The weather can be brutally cold and a heated tent is available. Each participant receives a hooded sweatshirt and medal.
