MCM was my first marathon 17 years ago, and I haven't missed a year since. This was the 40th Anniversary, so I was invited to a Ruby Reception party Friday night. The party was for runners who have finished at least 10 marathons. It was very inspirational to listen to the ground pounders and meet other runners. They gave us a nice ruby pin and book to take home.

I then walked over to the Pep Rally to meet friends. It was my first time attending, and it was so much fun. Bart Yasso was one of the speakers, they had music, food and raffles.

This year getting to the start was a little crazy and they had problems with lines to get to the start, but I did arrive in enough time to meet with Team RWB and RFRC to meet friends and get pre run photos.

This was a training run for me so I wasn't looking at the watch, and helped another Eagle finish, so it was a special day. Its a people's marathon, so I really love the camaraderie and support on this run. Its special to me for many reasons, more than just a run or race.

Its a must for all who run marathons!
