KERL 's thoughts:

Miami was a destination for the Group I was Coaching as the Winter Warriors from Chicago heading to Miami for a Hot and Humid Race. Well organized start with plenty of waves to control the crowd. Seemed that runners were following rules of the organizers. Although finding where the corrals were presented quite a challenge.

The race course is what you would expect in Miami; scenic, sunny, with streets full of joy and life. The bridge at Mile 1 which climbed to about 10-12 stories to clear the cruise ships was unexpected. Hill training for that first mile either helped you or killed the rest of your race.

Finish line and/or delineation between the Half and continued Full seemed confusing for many. Halves were continuing only to backtrack with additional mileage which sucked. Even the 1st Place Marathoner went to the Half finish only to be rerouted and lost time coming in 2nd. Super Sucks for him.

The controlled finished areas was lively, plenty of food and drinks for every runner. Pleasant staff and volunteers helping runners.

A must do race for early in the year. Afterwards, strolling down South Beach is a great plus to a Hot and Humid Race.
