The race is (or was) relatively small and is quickly gaining fame as a solid half marathon. The shirts are great custom tech t-shirts with very classy medal design. The expo is growing big enough to rival the Mini Marathon, with several vendor booths and activities. The course takes you through downtown Indianapolis and up Fall Creek toward the State Fairgrounds before heading back downtown. Very flat and fast with some amazing treats at the finisher chute. This was my first half marathon - which I ran only two days' notice. A friend fell ill and I stood in for her. While I was nowhere near prepared for the 13 miles at the time, I'm glad I pushed through it. Freezing rain began to pelt me at mile 10 and the foil blanket at the finish was a welcome relief. Volunteers were there with massage tents, sub sandwiches, chips....really more food that I can even remember. It was a great experience and has only become that much better each year.
