This was my first time running at the Petit Center and first time doing a marathon relay. I always appreciate a race that has great parking/access and this race was small enough that parking wasn't a problem. Since the Petit is 400m track, the small number of racers seemed amplified in the race space and overall, I thought the energy in by the track was excellent. I would recommend to anyone running to bring hot tea in addition to any other hydration that may be needed for the race. The air is dry and tea was a must-have. I would also recommend a jacket or sweatshirt that easily unzips because you will be constantly adding and removing layers throughout the race. I would definitely recommend this race as great winter run, without having to deal with typical midwest winter conditions.
Additional perks for this race was a nice long-sleeve and free race pictures. I also enjoyed the multi-purpose use of space and there was hockey games and open skating going on during the relay which added to the atmosphere.
