What a fantastic race! The buildup of excitement is genuine, the race itself is scenic and fast! There are some slight grades and inclines as you run along the Allen Parkway, but it just adds to the intensity! The race takes you through downtown Houston and then out along the bayou. The race expo is fun, the build up in the weeks before the race is amazing! There are plenty of running opportunities to meet and greet people and to run all over the city in different parts with the Houston half crew. Then race day is the best kind of chaos! Post race party is amazing! Tons of food from pancakes to breakfast tacos to beer and this year bloody Mary’s! The band was amazing and people don’t rush to leave the area. Parking is free all over downtown Houston and many of the parking garages are left open or charge a minimal fee to park. I give it Five stars!
