Emily 's thoughts:

The race and weekend was a blast! If you're planning on doing the 15k, be ready for hills!

First, the expo was easy to navigate through. We got there and easily picked up our bib and swag. They have a table to try on the jackets in case you want to exchange them, but once your package is open, you are stuck with the size. There is no race day pickup so if you can't make it to the expo, or just don't want to go into the city, you can have the the packet and swag sent to your home when you register.

I'm not sure how parking was the day of the race because I stayed downtown. The race was located in downtown Seattle, at the Seattle Center. You are split into corrals, with the faster group in the front. The 15k starts after the 5k so all the participants have finished and the course can be remarked.

The race starts out of the Seattle center and runs down to the water by Pikes Place Market then up towards 99 where it heads north until the turn around. Once on 99 the race gets a bit more difficult. There is a steady incline of elevation from mile 4 to about mile 6.5, although you get a short break while crossing the Aurora bridge. Once you turn around you get a nice downhill, almost to the end of the race. There are a few aid stations, and porta potties along the course, which is nice. You also get chocolate and marshmallows there if you want any. The finish is back at Seattle Center, and there are tons of people cheering you in.

Once you finish, you can get a plastic cup with chocolate fondue and many treats to dip, plus warm hot chocolate.

Can't wait to do this race again next year.
