Austin Aispuro's thoughts:

With this being my first time running a Hot Chocolate Race and their first time hosting a race in OKC, I didn’t know what to expect. Overall it being a fun race experience, there were a few areas where I thought they could make a few improvements.
The expo was easy to find and navigate through, but vendors were very limited and they didn’t have an area to purchase any additional hot chocolate merchandise like caps or tshirts. The zip up hoodie that we got for registering for the 15K is very nice quality though.
All the pre race activities and inflatables were fun to check out for pictures and the 5 minute waterfall for each corral was great! Made the first part of the race feel less crowded. The 15K takes you through parts of the OKC memorial half sights and neighborhoods including the state capital, gorilla hill and downtown Okc and Bricktown.
For the post race, they changed up two items that I was really looking forward to: the medal and the hot chocolate cup. I can understand the reasoning for switching the cup to one that’s recyclable but at least have the option to by a normal one either at the expo or after the race. And the finishers medal changed from a gold wrapper with a design for the city to a generic gray wrapper with the ribbon having the name of the city hosting the race. After seeing the medals I wife has previously ran in Colorado, I was really looking forward to seeing what design they would add to the Okc medal.
Overall fun race and would run it again, but just a little disappointed and didn’t live up to the expectations I’ve seen from previous races.
