The 5k was the only race of the day, and it started at Pier A Park.

I chose the event because it was close to home and it wasn’t terribly cold yet in NJ. It was a “warm” 48 degrees! We Ubered to the event, so parking wasn’t a factor.

The course was mostly flat. The initial report was that more than 1,000 runners registered, but a little over 500 runners were in the final results.

The race was well-organized. The bib and Santa outfit pick up was the day before at Fleet Feet/Jack Rabbit in Hoboken. It was easy and seamless. A souvenir t-shirt was included.

It was a good atmosphere and energy. I enjoyed seeing the runners in the Santa outfits and other Christmas-themed costumes. I would recommend it.

There was no medal or goodie bag at the end of the race. But, there was a finisher backdrop with Santa on a motorcycle. The expo had various vendors.

The post-race beverages were hot chocolate and energy drinks. I do wish there was a stand with Gatorade or water.
