Meghan Wolfenden's thoughts:

To check off the state of Pennsylvania, I ran The Pittsburgh 10 Miler! P3R put on an awesome event!

Pre-Race: Very thankful P3 let us pick up our packets morning of, since we drove in the morning of the race. Lots of space to warm up and stretch, and lots of porta potties. Not everyone could fit in the starting corrals before the start of the race, but once the gun went off and the first corral took off, we had no problem getting in as we edged up to the start line.

Race: This course was incredible. We crossed the well-known yellow bridges of Pittsburgh MANY times, which was my favorite part. There was a Mr. Rogers station, and we passed several of the famous landmarks in Pittsburgh. I love that we ran through so many neighborhoods of the city. There were plenty of hydration stations with both water and NUUN hydration. The water tasted pretty musty which is unusual for a race. There was a good mixture of peace and crowd support on the course. The miles flew by!

Finish: The finish was very well managed. We got our medals, then space blankets (which was awesome since it was so chilly), then lots of refreshments and snacks. It was spacious, which prevented a lot of congestion.

Swag: Really impressed with the medal! Also got a long sleeve technical shirt, sweatshirt, and headband.

P3R put on a fantastic race to showcase the city of Pittsburgh! I would highly recommend. If I lived closer and/or was not on my 50 states quest, I would run again!
