Brianna McClain's thoughts:

It's Pittsburgh, so yinz know about the parking quality! Get there early and walk. I recommend parking at Station Square!

I participated in the Steel City Challenge where you run a 5k on Saturday and the half or full on Sunday. You got an extra medal and I'm all about the medals haha.

This was my first time running anything farther than a 10k. I was terrified, I didn't feel ready and had no idea what to expect.

I absolutely LOVED the expo and felt that any race after was a disappointment compared to this one. So many free samples, discounts, and shopping!!

The course is challenging due to the landscape: hills, hills, bridges, and did mention hills? Definitely train on hills if you have the opportunity!! Questionable, moody Pittsburgh weather is also something to prepare for. It's early May so it could snow, be scorching hot, rain, be humid, etc. Be prepared.

The aid stations were stocked with Nuun hydration, water, and honey Stinger gels. There's bathrooms all over the course, about every mile/every other mile.

I felt the race was very organized and every one was so nice and supportive. The pacers were great, friendly, and actually paced!

I loved the festival at the end at The Point! Lots of food, picture opportunities, and swag. I still wear that finisher jacket as it's my favorite.

I highly recommend this race and if I didn't move to Arizona I'd definitely run it every year!!
