This was my first relay and it was overall a great experience. The pre-race communication was fantastic, we were updated numerous times before the race with details about the expo and race day. I ran the first leg of the relay, so I started the race with the marathoners. The wave organization went smoothly and I liked that each wave had their own 'send-off' where the race announcers spoke to and did a countdown for each wave. The course itself was very clearly posted and it was really cool running through a Denver Fire Station and Broncos Stadium. The only critique that I have was that the relay exchange zones seemed pretty disorganized. There were separate 'wave' areas labeled by team bib number where runners could line up to wait for their team to come in. The waiting areas were very small and cramped and some areas were empty so it seemed as thought the teams should have been spread out better and the waiting areas should have been larger. All in all, the race was really fun and I would recommend it! The medals and shirts are great and the post-race party zone is great!
