Overall this was one of the BEST marathons I've done. In 2011, I did this race and it was very windy. Then 2012 I did the 5K and the following day was the infamous year the marathon was canceled about 1/2 way through due to heat. Again, a hot year in 2013 but not as bad as 2012. I'd say GB had it's redemption year this year- at least based on weather! It was 50's at the start so much more manageable. Obviously this is out of their control but when weather is good, everyone has a better time.

It's not a HUGE race like Chicago but still enough people where you are never alone out there. The city of Green Bay does a great job promoting this race and getting the city on board. They understand the tourism a marathon brings! Aid stations were perfect and the scenery throughout DePere on the river trail is beautiful. And of course at the end you get to run through Lambeau. The expo offered a lot of shopping opportunities but not HUGE. The only low ranking I gave were the shirts- great quality but women's were very tight, long, and BLACK. I'm not a fan of black shirts for spring/summer and even early fall. I never wear black in the heat. I felt terrible for the men. Their shirts were an ugly gray/rusty color. My husband never wears his. Sad. Hopefully 2015 brings out a better shirt design! Another thing that added to the fun of this race was that we were with an extremely large running team- about 30 people ran either the full or a few ran the 1/2. I ran the full alone but most people had someone their pace.
