Zenaida Arroyo's thoughts:

I've done this race in the past. It used to be the Magellan Development Chicago Half Marathon. I did the 10K in 2011 and the half marathon in 2009 and 2010.

A friend of mine picked up my bib and goodie bag for me. I sent her a copy of my ID and it was very easy for her to get it for me. I signed up for the 10K and instead got a bib for the half marathon. Not a problem as I ran the 10K anyway.

It was a new start line for me (Maggie Daley Park) since in the past it was at The Park at Lakeshore East. Both locations are very close to each other so it wasn't a big deal/difference getting there.

The half marathon began at 7am and the 10K at 7:45. I saw plenty of port-a-potties and there was no line for them. Of course it seemed empty since most of the runners were already running.

The 10K is a great distance race. I didn't feel cold while running. However, once I was done I got very cold. Unfortunately I didn't participate in any of the post-race activities. I took a few pictures and left. I wanted to take advantage of the beer, breakfast, and the spring flower station.

I love the medal featuring a spinning Navy Pier Ferris Wheel and the free race photos. I also love the color of the shirt. Perfect for spring!
